Salvation

What a huge word salvation is. It is defined as the deliverance from sin and it's consequences believed by christians to be brought about in faith. Jesus came specifically to love as a human and to be tempted as we are and to overcome satan. For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. (Hebrews 2:17, 18 NIV). I am almost done with Isaiah and have absolutely loved it!! It is a really powerful and awesome book...I have now started Hebrews and this morning as I was reading salvation really spoke to me. It is so crazy to think about how God didn't have to save us or change or lives but He chose to die for us and save us. Adam and Eve sinned and we are sinful people the just punishment for sin is Hell. But through Jesus dying on the cross we are FREED! We are no longer slaves to our sin and the important part of salvation is repentance. We can't just say oh Jesus I believe in you but I still want my old life but at the end of this life I want to be with you so I will say I believe in you and go through the motions and go to church once a week but still have our old hearts. In salvation God gives us a whole new spirit-His. And that means we are a whole new person. A change in the course of our lives towards righteousness. It's like if you are really passionate about baking and you keep making better and better cookies and then one day just because you feel like you have found the perfect recipe and key to being famous but then you make an old just okay recipe. Why would you do that?? Don't you want the best option. The best option and course for our lives is Jesus Christ. He came down to this earth and humbled Himself and fought sin and got the victors crown.
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. ” (John 3:3 NIV).
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 NIV).
For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. (1 Thessalonians 5:9, 10 NIV).
God gave us this gift to cause a wide awakening in the world not to sit around and either keep sinning or just be lazy and think we are fine. God is the ultimate prize in this life!
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. (Revelation 3:20 NIV).
We need to keep seeking and seeking God! This is never ending. There is no retirement to following Christ. And we should have a good heart and be excited about serving Christ and all He calls us to! This is the best life we could ask for! Jesus will provide all of our needs and ultimately save us! There is so much in the world save!! Save is to keep or rescuer from harm or danger. God is saving us from death. I can't wait to meet Him. God has redeemed us!
For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. (Hebrews 2:2-4 NIV).
In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. (Hebrews 2:10 NIV).
So awesome to think about how God has saved me and continues to save me!
