It's wonderful to think about nothing being able to bring God down. It seems kind of impossible though. Over and over again in Isaiah I see God being able to stand against anything and be the Supreme Ruler. No matter what we do God will still be the same. No matter where we go in life God will be in the same place. God loves us. His Word is always the same and never will become less meaning. Every time I read a scripture it becomes more amazing to me. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8 NIV). Jesus doesn't need to get better. He is already perfect and will always remain perfect. There is nothing about God that says in 12,347 days He will be less powerful or amazing.
“I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty. But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the Lord, as in days gone by, as in former years. “So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners among you of justice, but do not fear me,” says the Lord Almighty. “I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty. “But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’ (Malachi 3:1-7 NIV).
God planned things from the beginning of time and followed through. He IS faithful. He never changes His word or what He wants to do with this world.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 NIV).
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NIV).
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (James 1:17 NIV).
Us as humans never ever stop changing. God never does change. He is a still and perfect image. Sometimes this can be hard and upsetting to understand. We keep changing and hopefully are changing into more like God. God has to help us stay in Him and be content and sometimes God keeps changing our lives and our direction!! He is wonderful and perfect!
