We have an amazing God. It overwhelms my heart all God can do and the way He can change a life. He does call people to give up their lives to further the advance of the gospel. That is so crazy to me to think about. Or even more to have someone give up their husbands life and be kind to people and then be killed. God let it happen; He knew what He was doing. And then even more for Elisabeth Elliot to then go love and live with the very people who killed her husband. Why would we do that? Because He is the Almighty King. He created us and made this world we live in. He knows what He is doing; we don't know what we are doing. We are constantly lost and wandering around trying to find our way. We get disheartened and scared and He picks us up and changes our lives. He has the power in the world and can do whatever He wants. He has so many people He can focus on and yet He chooses all of us. He cares for us and loves us and just does everything He can to bless us and help us to show His glory. He doesn't just say okay here is the bible and what you should do He is with us the whole way and guides us with His spirit in us. I just can't even comprehend how powerful He really is. My heart really does just sing for Him and long for Him and want to do everything I can to tell others about Him and share His power and glory! He is always there for me and will guide me.
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:15-17 NIV).
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14 NIV).
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.” (John 4:24, 26 NIV).
To you, Lord, I call; you are my Rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent, I will be like those who go down to the pit. Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place. Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak cordially with their neighbors but harbor malice in their hearts. Repay them for their deeds and for their evil work; repay them for what their hands have done and bring back on them what they deserve. Because they have no regard for the deeds of the Lord and what his hands have done, he will tear them down and never build them up again. Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. (Psalm 28:1-7 NIV). I just really have been crying out to God and felt so close to Him and believing more and more in Him and His power in my life! He is sooo good to me! I am here to do His work and His alone.
